FOR CONSUMERS
As a coalition dedicated to improving communication about the safe, appropriate use of medicines, the National Council on Patient Information and Education (NCPIE) wants to be your one-stop resource.

This section of our website provides direct links to timely, authoritative guidelines, tips and resources to help you use medicines safely and appropriately. These links may take you elsewhere within this site, or directly to a coalition member's website, or to one of an organization not affiliated with NCPIE.

We know that taking medicines safely involves asking questions and getting answers quickly. With today's risk of bioterrorism a reality in many U.S. communities, seeking and sharing information about medicine-taking, and talking with your health care professionals before starting any new medicine, are healthy behaviors that will give us peace of mind.
